If winter had a personality, we’d like to think it would spend its Sunday lunchtime sipping drinks and making candles.

Join us at Mother Mercy Heaton, for an afternoon of cosy winter scents, seasonal cocktails and candle making as we fully embrace candle season. As the nights start drawing in and the leaves begin to turn, we’ll be creating beautiful festive-inspired candles in one of Newcastle’s favourite cocktail bars.

You’ll make your own 120ml soy wax candle from scratch, choosing from a selection of rich autumn fragrances while we guide you through the process. Whether you’re bringing friends, planning a date night or simply treating yourself, it’s the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Your ticket includes a complimentary welcome drink on arrival, your handmade candle and one of our signature Hot Wax goodie bags to take home.

Expect festive scents, great drinks and a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon. We can’t think of a better excuse to start candle season.

💛 Just a quick heads up… We absolutely love this venue, but it does have quite a few steps (including to the toilets). They can catch me out after a couple of cocktails, never mind anyone else! Unfortunately that means it isn’t suitable for wheelchair users. If you need step-free access, I’d recommend one of our Tyneside Cinema or Motel One Newcastleworkshops instead – they’re both fully accessible.
