Exciting news! Hot Wax is launching a pop-up shop in Newcastle from 7-12 March at The Bottleworks in Ouseburn, Newcastle upon Tyne. It’s the perfect opportunity to meet the maker, explore our brand new spring scents, and snag exclusive discounts. Follow our socials for the latest news on the shop.

BottleWorks is located at 8 Riverside Walk, Newcastle upon Tyne NE6 1LX in the Lower Ouseburn Valley conservation area, on the Ouseburn river close to Ouseburn Bridge, just upstream of Northern Rye bakery, Di Meo’s Ice Cream Riverside and the Tyne Bar.

Our opening hours are as follows:

Thursday 10am – 6pm

Friday 10am – 8pm

Saturday 10am – 6pm

Sunday 10am – 4pm

Monday 10am – 4pm

You’ve bought one of our “scent-sational” candles and cannot wait to get it lit in the house.

Did you know – if you care for your candle in the right way it will increase the burn time and intensity of the scent.

Tip 1

The first time you light your candle burn until the wax has melted to the edge of the jar. This prevents tunnelling.

Tip 2

Only burn the candle to 1/2 inch of the bottom to prevent heat damage to surfaces.

Tip 3

Don’t burn for more than 4 hours because. It can cause the wick to move or slant.

Tip 4

Enjoy in a well ventilated room and keep out of reach of children and pets.

Tip 5

Replace the lid. This will let the wax harden without any dust or debris falling into it.

I’m over the moon to have teamed up with our pals at the Newcastle Wood Recycling CIC. I did a Christmas market there and absolutely loved the vibe and their ethos. I knew I wanted to collab and the.time.is.now!

Here’s a little more about the Newcastle Wood Recycling CIC.

“Newcastle Wood Recycling CIC is a not-for-profit organisation on a mission to divert wood from the local waste stream through our wood recycling service, while creating employment, training and volunteering opportunities to people in the community.

The timber we collect is used to create beautiful furniture and woodwork pieces for homes, gardens and businesses, or sold on for DIY material or as firewood.

We have transformed our wood yard, a former council depot in Walker, into a sustainable, vibrant space which serves as an asset to the local community. We provide studio space to other creative businesses who share our environmental and social ethos.

We’re currently working with Newcastle City Council on a development plan in order to secure funding and improve our facilities, which will allow us to offer further opportunities in the community.”

The captivating wood notes of cedarwood, musk and smokey vetiver makes this candle the perfect portable fireplace.

As you probably know by now, I really try my best to avoid wastage, and sending things to landfill. Our packaging is all made from recycled materials, we use plant-based wax and we plant a tree every day top offset our itty-bitsy carbon footprint.

But I think the best way we can be kind to the environment is by REUSING – not recycling!

So we now offer discount for anybody who brings back their used candle jar (like getting a penny for every lemonade bottle you returned in the 1980s!). Don’t worry what state the jar is in. As you’ll see from the video we’ll do all the hard work and give that glass a new lease of life.

If you have a stack of old candle jars feel free to drop them off at our studio at The John Marley Centre in Newcastle, or any of our markets.

We’re so excited to share with you all that we’ll be trading in Morpeth on the first Saturday of every month from 04 February.

Our second social is here at our studio in Newcastle!!!

This time it’s just in time for spring & Mother’s Day!

After the hugely successful Festive Social in December I am delighted to invite you along to the studio here in Newcastle upon Tyne.

This time I will be giving you the first chance to explore my Spring fragrances and boy do we have some absolute beauts for you to try! I’m also giving away goodie bags with some fab little treats for you – make sure to RSVP below!
